I have decided to regularly focus on different makers I encounter across the many aspects of my curatorial practice. This quarter it’s a maker from Canopy Market, Nadim Saleh.
Nadim is an outstanding designer-maker. Under the business name Godi, Nadim’s beautiful leather bags and accessories are exquisitely crafted from the finest leathers. There is more to this maker however ...
A market is first and foremost a community, a group ofdisparate people brought together by a curator because of the beauty of their work: beautiful work however can only take you so far. Just as crucial in a market – and any event for that matter – is the spirit of those who take part. Community is the glue that holds makers together, helping them to survive the down times and in unison celebrate the good. Nadim’s heart is like a contact adhesive, binding together the spirit of the market.
It’s my pleasure to share Nadim Saleh and Godi!
