After eight consecutive years of “Curated by Dan Goode” at every Handmade in Britain show, I am announcing the retirement of this arm of my practice. From February 1st, I will be transitioning into the role of Consultant Director for Handmade in Britain and therefore departing from my independent curator position. I am overjoyed that I will be joining the amazing Handmade in Britain team and contributing to their shows and online gallery. It is most definitely a “fond farewell” to something I have loved doing, but an openhearted welcome to new beginnings.
I must take a moment here to express how inordinately proud I am of all the makers I have had the honour and privilege of bringing to the Handmade in Britain shows, and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your amazing commitment and exceptional work. It has been a joy working with you all.
For those who were planning to do the shows with me this year, never fear, my mission will continue, just in a different way. I will still be fully committed to bringing new and exciting makers to Oxford and Chelsea and to that end we are actively developing fresh ideas to continue the legacy of Curated by Dan Goode within Handmade in Britain in a different format.
Stay tuned for forthcoming updates and I look forward to working with you in my new capacity.
